DIGITAL SKINS AND PAINTED OBJECTS
When asked what colour our hair is we might answer with only one word: brown, red, black, pink…
Our hair is in fact many shades absorbing, reflecting light to produce a unique colour of its own. Changing colour with the bleaching of the sun and age. But my hair colour is also a choice. A quick trip to the local chemist and I can paint my hair almost any colour.
For the third workshop we will explore the surface qualities of a sculpture and painting the surface can
change what we are looking at. In 3D digital space the surface of an object is its skin and the colour and
pattern of this skin is determined independently of its form.
